Who’s to Blame?

We want to talk gun control

But no self- control,

Want to have religion

But avoid anything uncomfortable.

We wonder how it is

That we’ve got school shootings killing kids

But don’t bat an eye at the millions

Killed in abortion clinics.

Reading through the scripture,

An all too prevailing picture

Emerges:

When people follow God

And humbly submit under the rod,

Harvest is abundantly ripe in seep sod.

Though, when people go obscure

And obstinately turn away from the Lord,

They undoubtedly reap the demise

their actions ask for.

So, I’m tired of the blame game,

Whatever the political party may be.

If we stand united under God’s sovereignty

And repent of all that is blasphemy,

If we humbly request peace,

Then that’s exactly what we’ll be

And what we’ll receive.

Any bickering about this truth

Slides in only to destroy the morality

of youth

Thus, if we care, let us care

And not hide in the hull in the storm.

Let’s be forthright about our birthright

And rectify the wrong.

We bring upon ourselves the trouble

of our disease;

We know the path which we should go

But depart on desperate seas.

For curing, we must come humbly

before the King,

Only He can fix the suffering,

Only His peace will ease.

And then, the innocent won’t perish

On account of the souls of men

But rather, be renewed as new creation.

And united in love,

We’ll return as a great nation.
